Malaysia currently accounts for 35% of World Palm Oil Production and 40% of World Exports. If taken into account of other oils & fats produced in the country, Malaysia accounts for 15% and 30% of the World’s total Production and Exports of oils and fats.
What is Palm Oil?
Palm oil is the most widely-used vegetable oil in the world. Palm fruit oil, generally known as palm oil, which is produced from the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis Guineensis). This tropical fruit is reddish in color because of high beta-carotene content. The fruit is about the size of a large olive. The palm fruit has a single seed or kernel, which used to produce palm kernel oil. Each palm fruit contains about 30-35 percent oil.
